HEYYY i was just trying to upload some of my own gif and it just won't work. CAn you teach me how I can do it in such a great quality like yours?
I replied to an ask a while back on the general process, so that’d be a good place to start! As far as the specs/size requirements go, keep it 500px wide (height shouldn’t be an issue) and under 1MB. As for the quality, it’ll take a lot of fine-tuning. It helps to restrict the amount of colors in the GIF, so start off exporting something in black & white and then add more colors one-by-one. Try to get familiar with the Save For Web function in Photoshop and the answers you seek will come your way.
Hello, friend! Mike G here. Tickled to see you have a Tumblr. I use mine less than in days of yore but I'm stoked on yours'! Great GIFs my dude, keep it up.
Hey there Mike G! Tickled to see you’ve found me. Bummed I didn’t run in to you in Port Jervis but I’m sure I’ll see you soon enough! Though I may not recognize you if you don’t have that ‘stache…
Your GIFs are art. Thank you for sharing.

Can you tell us how you make your GIFs? The quality and output size on yours are beyond me. Amazing GIFs, by the way!
Photoshop. Most of the time is spent isolating the animated portion of each frame with an individual mask to reduce filesize. Even video noise/grain will add to the filesize, so I put an extra layer above the animation to freeze the non-moving objects. Next comes the color adjustment to remove as many “unnecessary” colors as possible. This adds to the image quality and can help to reduce filesize a bit further. The rest of the process moves on in to more minute details and it really just comes down to practice (Isn’t that always the case?) and the video clip itself.
Thanks for the question! I enjoy making the gifs and I’m glad you appreciate the effort!
WOOOW I LOVE YOUR GIFS !!!!
